Edison Kennel has moved! We are now located in beautiful North Carolina!.
This well established show and working Parson Russell Terrier kennel is not far from the heart of the Florida winter show circuit. Some of the accomplishments of Edison Kennel are 2 Best of Breeds at the Eukanuba Invitationals open to only the top 25 dog in each breed, 3 First Awards of Merit at our National Specialty, Best of Opposite Sex at Westminster and numerous Group wins.

The dream of becoming a premier terrier kennel began in 1992, after many years of successfully breeding and working German Shepherds in the sport of Schutzhund. My goal to be the first woman to win the National Schutzhund III Championship title was achieved in California in 1982. Afterwards, I won the Regional Championship, many perfect tracking championships (Fartenhund), and numerous High in Trial victories. During this time, my breeding program produced the Canadian Sieger Champion, one dog placing at the National Police Championship, and two dogs that qualified for the German DVG Championship. Working was of utmost importance.

After moving to the "country" of South Florida, I had a need for a terrier to work the property. It was critical that I had a well balanced working terrier. I was determined to find a renown bloodline of correctly structured working terriers. My quest in England led me to my mentor and friend, Eddie Chapman, and his long established bloodlines of The Foxwarren. I soon learned that there was more to breeding a quality Parson for traditional terrier work than I had imagined. I spent many weeks in England over the years hunting red fox in the Exmoor and surrounhunts. I experienced not only the purpose of this breed but the need to be a spannable, flexible, and correctly structured dog in order to navigate through the tight earths. The Parson Russell Terrier must be a "total package".

While in England, I hunted with many other earthworking breeds, but the distinctive style of the Parson Russell Terrier set this breed apart from all the others. Developed and used for more than a century to bay and bolt the fox unharmed from his den, my new passion for a working terrier breed peaked. I imported several terriers based on their proven working lines from this terrier man and his dogs of The Foxwarren. Thus commenced Edison Kennel and my Parson Russell Terriers.
